Outlook isn't letting me resize an image. Used to click on the pasted image and drag the corner to size. Why make updates that make things more difficult?

UPDATE 09.20.2024

AGAIN, this issue has returned, and the previous work arounds don't work either.

This site is a message board, you need to contact MS directly to get this resolved.

I contacted Support, and they say they can't fix because the issue is on the server, so MS has to fix it.

Go into your Outlook app and select Help >Feedback > Report a Problem.

The problem is: Image sizing handles do not work, and images can no longer be resized when pasted in a message body.

Hoping they get flooded with these reports and the issue is resolved quickly.

SOLUTION 1 (09 20 2024):

Paste image into a MS Word document, where the resizing handles work, size the image then clip & paste it into the message.

SOLUTION 2 (09 20 2024):

I received another work around from Anthony in a post on this board . . .

Clip image >"Save As" onto hard drive> go to Outlook> select Insert>select picture> browse to location image is stored> select image and insert into message> At this point you have 1 chance to size it with the sizing handles, after that the sizing handles no longer work.

SOLUTION:

 Now to resize an image

1. Click to the right in a blank area so the image is NOT selected

2. Hold Shift Key down and then hit the Left Arrow Key and the resize handles will appear

    This proves once again that users are not a priority for big tech companies. What is the benefit of removing features like manually resizing a picture for an email? The same goes for signature banners – why take them out? Wait, maybe they save a couple of dollars down the line, and the investors appreciate that.
    Anyway, Thanks for the tip it just save my day of throwing my Win laptop by the window

    Let me come back on this..

    • do not work on email signature banner, have multiple banner and even if select one of Microsoft so well think resizing , they end up differents..
    • Win laptop is down the windows and now moving to google workspace

    Click to the right of the pic so it is not highlighted; then SHIFT and LEFT-ARROW
    Will bring up the handles.

    In any way, this is a bug !!

    Will be fixed....

    No need to throw anything by the windows, could hurt someone or to speak about MS and the respect of, customers... 😔😔😔
