Outlook isn't letting me resize an image. Used to click on the pasted image and drag the corner to size. Why make updates that make things more difficult?

UPDATE 09.20.2024

AGAIN, this issue has returned, and the previous work arounds don't work either.

This site is a message board, you need to contact MS directly to get this resolved.

I contacted Support, and they say they can't fix because the issue is on the server, so MS has to fix it.

Go into your Outlook app and select Help >Feedback > Report a Problem.

The problem is: Image sizing handles do not work, and images can no longer be resized when pasted in a message body.

Hoping they get flooded with these reports and the issue is resolved quickly.

SOLUTION 1 (09 20 2024):

Paste image into a MS Word document, where the resizing handles work, size the image then clip & paste it into the message.

SOLUTION 2 (09 20 2024):

I received another work around from Anthony in a post on this board . . .

Clip image >"Save As" onto hard drive> go to Outlook> select Insert>select picture> browse to location image is stored> select image and insert into message> At this point you have 1 chance to size it with the sizing handles, after that the sizing handles no longer work.

ORIGINAL POST 07 24 2024:

Outlook isn't letting me resize an image. Used to click on the pasted image and drag the corner to size.

Outlook for Windows version 1.2024.717.400 (Production)

SOLUTION:

 Now to resize an image

1. Click to the right in a blank area so the image is NOT selected

2. Hold Shift Key down and then hit the Left Arrow Key and the resize handles will appear

    I strongly second this
I have the exact same issue.

It used to be possible in the latest "new Outlook" version AND the (very similar looking) web version....

I am curious as to why a product update would remove features that made it effective and efficient. The new Outlook is simply embarrassing at this point...both the email and calendar. I have been actively been looking through posts trying to find work-arounds so that I accomplish things that I was able to do with ease (such as the issue on this post), and the amount of things that are "not yet available" is unacceptable. And, I did try to go back to the "old" Outlook, and it erases all my calendar information that was placed on the calendar after I made the switch, so that is not an option.

Really, please, this was a bug, the feature never was removed... There was no intent, it is strange that the first explanation you and a lot of other users is:

    • they removed that feature the one I love so much, this is a personal now, Then some: Noob M$ stu** and *** is M$$ 😉😉

    Bug:

*In technical terms🔬, it's an error 😭, flaw, or glitch (like the cat "déjà vu", (*The Matrix)) in the software that causes it to behave in a way that wasn’t intended. Bugs can make things crash,🤕 slow down,🐌 or do completely the wrong thing🧲. It's like the app has a mind of its own 🧠 and decides, "Nah, I’m gonna do this instead." 🆓🎢🥉🪅🔓

Why is it called a bug? Well, in 1947, an actual moth🦋 was found stuck in a computer💽, causing a malfunction.💥 So, they started calling errors 🦟 "bugs." Though, these days, no moths are involved (probably). But hey, it still feels like the software’s swarming 🕸️🪲🐞🪱🐜🐝🦋 with invisible little pests, right?

Written by some AI agent, let's call it "o", who asked to remain anonymous, I can understand this is not that fun...

For your calendar issue you should start a new thread and explain the situation: what type of account, what step did you follow, to reproduce the situation, with a few screenshots, it is probably not a big issue.
Also, I just noticed there is a new button in the settings, maybe it will help (cf image).

Otherwise, in the MS 365 Business "insider" version, there are quite a few additional features that have been ported back, especially on the Web version... I don't know what the plans are, but most of it will probably be available to everyone...

For feature request, don't hesitate to give feedback, nicely explain what you would like/or miss and why it is a good idea to have that ;)

The resize handler is not appearing still. This is kind of frustrating.
