Outlook isn't letting me resize an image. Used to click on the pasted image and drag the corner to size. Why make updates that make things more difficult?

UPDATE 09.20.2024

AGAIN, this issue has returned, and the previous work arounds don't work either.

This site is a message board, you need to contact MS directly to get this resolved.

I contacted Support, and they say they can't fix because the issue is on the server, so MS has to fix it.

Go into your Outlook app and select Help >Feedback > Report a Problem.

The problem is: Image sizing handles do not work, and images can no longer be resized when pasted in a message body.

Hoping they get flooded with these reports and the issue is resolved quickly.

SOLUTION 1 (09 20 2024):

Paste image into a MS Word document, where the resizing handles work, size the image then clip & paste it into the message.

SOLUTION 2 (09 20 2024):

I received another work around from Anthony in a post on this board . . .

Clip image >"Save As" onto hard drive> go to Outlook> select Insert>select picture> browse to location image is stored> select image and insert into message> At this point you have 1 chance to size it with the sizing handles, after that the sizing handles no longer work.

ORIGINAL POST 07 24 2024:

Outlook isn't letting me resize an image. Used to click on the pasted image and drag the corner to size.

Outlook for Windows version 1.2024.717.400 (Production)

SOLUTION:

 Now to resize an image

1. Click to the right in a blank area so the image is NOT selected

2. Hold Shift Key down and then hit the Left Arrow Key and the resize handles will appear

I have the same issue and had to return to the older, better outlook.

Honestly why take out such a useful feature and replace it with some rubbish feature that dictates what size you can have, that makes the image huge or so small it's not even readable?

    Please bring it back.

How sad is this software. Why can't you click on the image and resize anymore?

Thanks for sharing! Not sure why they had to hide this feature behind a cryptic keyboard combination. It's a step backward.

New Outlook user interface is terrible.

Thanks so much, that worked but why in God's name would Microsoft do that. Whoever decided that needs to visit a psychiatrist. Previously, you click an image and resize it, this how any application works. Now, you have to press a secret shortcut combination that many people will not know, probably 99% of users won't know that. In any case, thanks for the answer.
