Cannot Get Mail The mail server "imap-mail.outlook.com" is not responding.

I have an MSN account that stopped working suddenly as well...all of the same symptoms that you all are seeing. What I had to do was delete my MSN account from my phone and reinstall it as an outlook account instead. It immediately initiated and all of my mails are there as before...strange, but it worked.

I have an MSN account as well. I am not getting any emails on my iPhone as well. nothing is working...

should I reinstall my account as an outlook? as a description or user name ?? I am a little confused .

My iPhone mail cannot connect to the hotmail anymore. I delete the hotmail and re-add it into the mail. But it shows "imap-mail.outlokk.com" is not responding. I also try "outlook.office365.com", and it returns the same error.

How could I resolve the problem? THX.

Hello my E-mail address is m*********@msn.com. I am unable to receive any E-mail from this account. I have an account with msn for over 20 years. Can you help me with this problem.

If you have Apple Mail that’s linked to Outlook so you can see your email on your phone you go to settings-mail-accounts-Outlook and hit “Delete Account”. Then after the delete is confirmed hit “Add Account” and reinstall Outlook using your email/password. This will reconfigure Apple Mail to Outlook but you’ll lose anything in Archves and Notes on Apple Mail. Check actual Outlook first to make sure all is good on it and you won’t lose anything on Outlook itself. Your inbox on Outlook will reload on Apple Mail.

What I have is Apple Mail on my phone linked to Outlook/Hotmail so I can see my Outlook emails on my phone. Microsoft did a change that took effect on Sept 30 that basically broke that link - for authentication purposes they say. You may have an email from them in July and again about 3 weeks ago warning of this and offering fix suggestions. My Apple Mail fix was to delete and then re-install Outlook on the Apple Mail App. It worked - with my Archived emails on Apple Mail lost. The re-install seemed to do away with the IMAP on the “Incoming Mail Server” as part of the re-install. I don’t know about anything other than Apple Mail issues.
