Cannot Get Mail The mail server "imap-mail.outlook.com" is not responding.

Unfortunately none of those will work. Microsoft has eliminated the password authentication method which is extremely confusing but they can’t be bothered to explain it to us in plain English. Apparently Apple seems to believe they offer the new authentication method but not when you’re using “Other” as opposed to “Outlook.com” when adding a new mail account in Settings. Thus rendering the ability to manually configure email accounts on iOS devices completely useless.. This is also causing another major issue because people are complaining about emails disappearing as I mentioned in my post up above. You delete an email on one iOS device and it’s automatically deleted on your other iOS devices because the option to leave a copy of the message on the server has been also eliminated by Microsoft but they don’t bother telling us that causing frustration for millions of users. There is a lot more to this basic versus modern authentication method then they’re telling us which is extremely aggravating but what do they care!

Those settings don’t work on iOS devices anymore which Microsoft has been kind enough to not tell us! Instead they give us this basic versus modern authentication garbage and as you can see from the list of authentication options above in Tanya 9700s response it doesn’t exist. This is why there are hundreds of posts on the Microsoft and Apple forums about this exact same issue because they’re not being straightforward about it. The biggest problem isn’t just the lack of ability to connect to email anymore it’s emails disappearing. You delete an email off your iPhone it deletes it from the server and any other device and vice versa which is ticked a lot of people off because most of us like to view our emails on our iPhones or iPads and later download and save them to our computer! This disappearing act has created a headache for probably thousands of not millions of users but what does Microsoft care!
