Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
I switched back to the regular outlook due to this issue. Posting here in hopes that out combined efforts will push this boulder up the hill.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
A very dangerous behavior in the new outlook is that hoving the mouse pointer over a hyperlink in an email no longer displays the actual URL of the link.
Seeing the true URL is the #1 way people can avoid getting email scammed. Removing this tool is inviting people to get defrauded. This should not be a default behavior and I cannot see how to resolve this.

Grievously irresponsible to push this version of Outlook (and allow end users to upgrade to it without elevation!) without this feature. Why is it taking so long to remediate?
Same here - I have also just repaired WV2 and the hover over links isn't appearing. Agree with everyone on the thread - this needs to be resolved urgently if we are going to proceed with New Outlook as opposed to the old version (which has far better features by the way). This lack of security oversight surely must be getting picked up at MS???
I have the same Outlook version and WebView2 (just updated to check and rebooted), and I still don't have hover over links. Is there a setting that is missing somewhere? We need the hover over links to be consistent for everyone.
If i switch to what MSFT calls "classic outlook" i can see links in Outlook email but not in Gmail and other email.
