How To Stop The New Outlook From Automatically Installing

I need help please to stop the new outlook from automatically installing and replacing my windows and calendar app. I have uninstalled the new Outlook 4 times today. Every time I launch the old mail and Calendar app the new outlook automatically installs without my permission. It stops me from using the old app. This is very annoying. I don't want the new app. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Your advice would be appreciated.

What worked for me was deleting the new Outlook's executable ("olk.exe") from "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.OutlookForWindows".

Once it's gone, it can't forcibly launch anymore when you open Windows Mail.

You first need to take ownership of the "WindowsApps" folder, then after deleting/renaming the .exe, restore the ownership back to "TrustedInstaller" (to prevent any potential issue down the line).

    Except for the life of me, and despite countless efforts and settings changes..... T'Bird wont allow me to send mail from any of my outlook (MS365) accounts. Older versions were fine, I tried getting help, of course googling the answers but none would let me send mail. So I ended up going to the new Outlook.

    Also good thing is to create empty directory "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.OutlookForWindows", and remove for it all permissions, for all users including System, TrustedInstaller and leave only your user account. Remember to set full control for your user account.

    If Wino Mail doesn't work for you, you might also want to check out the Blue mail and Calendar app from the Microsoft store. It works with all e mail protocols. eM Client is also another option.
