Outlook calendar will not allow a date or time change to a scheduled event via the date/time pull downs

In my outlook calendar I can no longer change the date or time of any event using the pull down arrows to change the start date or time. When I input a new day or time, it reverts back to the original. I am able to change the date/time of event by dragging the event, but this is cumbersome. It is a new computer and Office 365. This is a new issue and started approximately 2 weeks ago.

Right. To deal with this problem i use iCloud/Aganda side bij side with Outlook/Agenda and do al my Agenda-work in iCloud/Agenda with all start and stop times and dates i want. Seconds later those show up in Outlook/agenda. Wide screen is handy.

I have this problem after several installations and new PC's., snce i think at least fout or five months.

So before Outlook/agenda was reflected in iCloud/agenda (and on iPad en iPhone), now its the other way around. So what is the problem (haha)?

I have been struggling with this issue also. This morning I noticed that Microsoft Teams has been activated on my system. I disabled it and low and behold, Outlook Calendar is working fine.

I've done what Thomas-MM suggested, November 18. That works.

I have exactly the same issue as you.

My computer is NOT new and my 365 is approximately 3 years old and I have been using the Classic Outlook.

    As mentioned by others

    • i cannot schedule an appt for any time other than 8am in the morning thru clicking on the calendar/using new appt
    • I cannot modify the time through the pull down arrows.
    • The problem began in the early part of November. Prior to that the many appts I was scheduling had no issues.

There are workarounds but they are a nuisance

    • you either must leave your microsoft device and enter your appts via Apple Iphone or Ipad [not sure about everyone else but I chose a windows based computer for a reason - don't particularly want an apple]
    • you have to do the activity twice [ie enter the appt and details then save, then go out to the day view on outlook and drag it into position.} If you are scheduling many appts [which i am for medical reasons] the appts need to be accurate and having the extra work is undesirable.

I would like to know what is being done to resolve the issue

    Dear KareyR5,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

I understand that you have encountered an issue while changing the date and time of events in your calendar. This situation is indeed confusing and inconvenient, and now I will do my best to assist you. Let's try to solve this problem together:

Firstly, I noticed that you mentioned this is a new issue that you started encountering two weeks ago, and this is a new computer.

And starting in 2024, many new devices are preinstalled with new Outlook for Windows and don't ship with classic Outlook:  You can't open classic Outlook on a new Windows PC - Microsoft Support

So, may I ask if you encountered this issue when switching to New Outlook two weeks ago?

Since you have Office 365, we recommend switching back to Classic Outlook to see if this issue still exists. If it doesn't exist, we speculate it's a problem with New Outlook. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling New Outlook to see the effect. If it doesn't work, we recommend using classic Outlook.

Tip: The new Outlook is a free email program released by Microsoft. It is not a paid Outlook obtained by Microsoft 365 subscribers. If you have ordered Microsoft 365 Personal or Home Edition. The Outlook you have obtained is the latest version of Outlook Classic. It has richer and more stable functions.

If this issue also exists in Classic Outlook, you can try creating a new configuration file and adding your account to see the effect: Create an Outlook profile - Microsoft Support

In addition to the methods in the link, you can also create a configuration file by following these steps:

Open "Control Panel" and select "Mail".

Click on "Show Profiles" and then "Add" to create a new profile.

Follow the instructions to set up a new email account and make it the default profile.

Hope this help you, please feel free to let me know how it goes. If there is any deviation in my understanding, please forgive me and provide me with more details. I am more than happy to continue to help you.

    Best Regards,
