"imap- mail.outlook.com" doesn't support Password authentication. Please check your account I can’t get my emails but I can on a browser

Thanks so much for posting this!!! It worked!!! I did the same (following your instructions).. settings/mail/Mail Accounts/add account/hit the Outlook.com Icon/sign in with my Hotmail info. Then I had an additional account show up (the new Outlook/Hotmail, so I went back to Mail Accounts, hit Hotmail and deselected Mail. I suppose I can delete the old Hotmail account so that it no longer shows up when I check mail. At this point but I'll sit tight for a bit first.

I deleted Hotmail on my phone, then added it under Outlook and ... I seem good to go (like many others below in the same boat). I am getting emails again. However, I can seemingly only see emails back to the first of September and going forward. Is the reasoning for this was that this "cutover" effective 9/1/24?

I still have not received any such email with instructions. I am at a total standstill all my important emails. I cannot retrieve and I’m not receiving emails. I have Hotmail on my iPhone that is my main email. I am totally screwed. What can I do and I am very disappointed.

On your iPhone, go to settings/mail/Mail Accounts/add account/hit the Outlook.com Icon/sign in with your Hotmail info. Then you will have an additional mail account show up (the new Outlook/Hotmail) so then you can go back to Mail Accounts, hit Hotmail and deselected Mail.. or just delete the old Hotmail account but you may lose access to previous mail.
