"imap- mail.outlook.com" doesn't support Password authentication. Please check your account I can’t get my emails but I can on a browser

i can add my email to the outlook on my iphone but my notes are not showing at all not on my phone in the notes app nor on my email via outlook. on outlook it shows i have stuff in the notes folder but when i click on it there is nothing at all.

however i noticed if i types on the laptop in outlook specific words in search i can then find my poetry that had that word and thats the only way i could access them but you can appreciate years of writing so i cant exactly remember each one. just cant have them all in one folder

i wonder if there is an issue with outlook syncing mail and notes not sure

I had this problem too but solved it by instead of clicking 'add account' i clicked outlook then put in my hotmail address and password and it worked, i can now access them again on my mail app. I also use my outlook app for my work emails so didn't want to go down that route.

I have the same issue, I just upgraded from iPhone 11 to 16 and everything is fine. I write a lot of poetry on my phone in the notes app which not since I have upgraded and can’t add my email address the usual way it has now deleted all my notes however if I log in on laptop my notes are still there on my email but not on the phone.

I think notes were linked to my Hotmail account which now when adding it via outlook in the setting means I can’t get my notes restored.

Not sure if that made any sense but if it did can someone help resolve this?
