"imap- mail.outlook.com" doesn't support Password authentication. Please check your account I can’t get my emails but I can on a browser

I deleted Hotmail on my phone, then added it under Outlook and ... I seem good to go (like many others below in the same boat). I am getting emails again. However, I can seemingly only see emails back to the first of September and going forward. Is the reasoning for this was that this "cutover" effective 9/1/24?

Thanks so much for posting this!!! It worked!!! I did the same (following your instructions).. settings/mail/Mail Accounts/add account/hit the Outlook.com Icon/sign in with my Hotmail info. Then I had an additional account show up (the new Outlook/Hotmail, so I went back to Mail Accounts, hit Hotmail and deselected Mail. I suppose I can delete the old Hotmail account so that it no longer shows up when I check mail. At this point but I'll sit tight for a bit first.

I have done the switching to outlook.com. What I liked about the hotmail.com was I could see all my past emails on my phones. Now I can only see them on my laptop. My question is "how can I get the older emails via my phone?" As I often need to grab information from an old folder that I was able to do with my hotmail account and am not able to do on my iPhone 11pro?
