Search no longer works in Outlook. When I try to type something in the search field, it 'flashes' and nothing is entered. This morning there was both an Outlook and a Windows update.

I actually had 27K items on my search , cleared it all and it started working after a few hours , thank you for providing the solution.

It is still happening for me - just jumps out of the search bar when I try and search my hotmail account in Outlook 24 - but is fine for Gmail and Sky accounts in there?? Using the suggested workaround of searching in the sky or gmail mailbox using the All Mailboxes option

Its the wifi.. As soon as internet connection is stopped search works !! Communication back to MS server is whats doing it. But, need the internet to get results and use Outlook on PC
Every Sept/Oct MS breaks something...
Don't waste time on repair program as a user it does nothing.
