Accessing Outlook .pst files in New Outlook

I have twenty years of history in various .pst files.  When I first started using Outlook, my single .pst file and all my folders got too large and I was instructed to move some of my folders into new .pst files.  These .pst files contain lots of important emails and historic records attached to emails.  So I filed all the emails into various folders within various .pst files. 

If Outlook will no longer support .pst files, how will I be able to access the .pst files?  I understand that Microsoft will no longer support “Old Outlook”.  So what can I now do to be able to access these various .pst files?  Should i go back to what I was doing originally and move everything from .pst files into folders within my "root" Outlook email? That would put about 4.5G of emails into my New Outlook. How will that work?

    The only way I was able to get my 50GB of files from a PST to OST was to:

    1. Close the PST files and inbox.
    2. Remove the data file from the settings.
    3. Create the IMAP email account - in my case OZEMAIL (run by themessagingco TMC)
    4. send myself some emails and test.
    5. Open the PST files closed previously.
    6. Drag and drop them into the new IMAP account - takes forever to upload 50GB - lucky I have paid for the storage with TMC
    7. lots of waiting and now im all good.

    Microsoft is **** - doesnt listen and does what they want, constantly fiddling with buttons and ribbons whcih now take up more of the valuable screen space. But I guess they build it for the mass of people whom never used DOS and the like before.

    Oh and on my second machine with other accounts i am now going with eMClient - seems pretty good at first glance

    Two observations: you are paying for storage. The argument for .psts is you don't pay monthly/yearly costs for storage. You buy a computer that has the storage and you manage it from there.

    Second observation. Are you still waiting for those emails to upload? No wait time if Microsoft left .psts intact.

    According to some Microsoft FAQs .pst support is planned for sometime in 2025. Let's hope that is true.

    I'm willing to keep an eye on the progress and keep using the pst supporting version of Outlook.

    I am using the desktop outlook and there is an option to not use the new outlook. Refer to the upper right of the desktop application.

    I would keep using the pst supporting version of Outlook. Problem is, it no longer accepts my password and MS just tell me to move to the new one! Really annoying!
