Not sure how this happened but the new outlook is easily the worst piece of software I have ever seen. That takes into account MS-Dos and Win 95 disasters.
No clue why on earth they would force this garbage on us, when most of us used to say how great outlook was......
I MUST get back to classic now and how can I do it as it dropped all my other email accounts and created armageddon

I was able to solve my problem that the new outlook could not show my display name. But I am replying here because it has been the most incredibly frustrating experience I have had in years. Microsoft Outlook is a complete disaster - why is it still such a horrible product and user experience so many months after launch?
This doesn't work. When I toggle back to classic, it asks me for feedback then closes and a window pops open " Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed.
That error is common when the Outlook Profile is damaged. Try creating a new profile and adding your email account to it. With Outlook closed, Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add, give it a name and click OK. You'll be prompted to add your email account(s). When finished, click the Prompt for a Profile to be used radio button so you can select the new profile. If everything works OK, you can go back to that page, click Always use this Profile and select the profile in the window.

The "new" Outlook is embarrassingly awful. I will NEVER switch over again. I'm so exhausted with my business operating as the MS Beta team for NOTHING!!! You give us NOTHING for testing your **** software time after time after time. I'm done.

I just started my pc and on top of outlook was a message that the next time I start outlook it will be the new outlook so MS is now forcing the new version upon us even though we elected to keep the classic version. SHAMEFUL!!! If they do this I will not renew my 365 subscription.
