GET RID OF NEW OUTLOOK NOW - Revert To Classic PLEASE

Thank you for your suggestions. More importantly, thank you for providing the opportunity for feedback.

Objective: Stop "New" Outlook from running. It's bad enough when "New" Outlook opens when you don't want it, but I got really mad when I couldn't use the Share Command in Word to access "Classic" Outlook to send an email. I had to open "Classic" Outlook first, then open email, open a new message, select the attach command, navigate to the document to attach it, and THEN hit send. I can't tell you how pissed off this made.

So then I found your instructions to shut down "New" Outlook completely - but now even your instructions don't work! This really stinks, and now I'm wasting at least 30-45 minutes just trying to communicate the problem.

So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!

My Configuration: Win 11 Home, Version 10.0.26100, running Outlook 365 locally. I'm the admin for the domain name vs-2.com.

In your first set of instructions, #3. there is no "New Outlook" option - or at least I can't find it after searching through the right column for each item in the whole list on the left

In your second set of instructions, #4. there is no "UseNewOutlook" item where I can enter a Value Field of "0". I tried to attach a screen shot image of the registry for you, but I don't see how to attach an option on this reply.

The only good news is that I'm not alone hating "New" Outlook. I looked at some reviews after encountering this issue and realized how unpopular it is. I just thought it was my personal objection to the bloated UI that uses so much of my desktop space with large fonts and icons that don't explain what they do, plus the fact that you need to re-learn how to use "New" Outlook when "Classic" Outlook works just fine! But now I know it's even worse when I can't seem to get rid of it, especially now when I've wasted over an hour on this! I hope it helps someone else also.

It's February 2025 and after clean installing windows on my new motherboard the office 365 installer forced new outlook on me and will not revert to the classic view no matter what I do. MS deliberately did not include the old outlook.exe so when I turn off the new outlook button it just reboots itself right back into new outlook.

I hate new outlook, its so metro and I don't want it anywhere near any of my pc's. At least my laptops still have classic on them but I could hit the idiot who forced this upon us with a #10 cast iron skillet right across the top of the head for this.

Edit: I went back and checked my old installers and thank the stars I found a 2023 version that did install classic outlook so I'm back to the old version. 😍

This is not working for me. Tried to taggle the switch and ask for survey and just close. Classis Outlook never open. Tried multiple times and same. Uninstalled Outlook and now i don't have any Outlook at all. Try re-installing Office, but no Outlook installation is performed. Hate when Microsoft just put things harder for users and it support personnel.

Can anyone help?

I too joined the ranks of the disillusioned by yet another attack against my patience, disappointment and eventual strain on my sanity, due to what I believe is a basic lack of common sense from our good friends at MICRO-****.

YES indeed, the fancy new OUTLOOK is as handy as a screen door on a submarine in my opinion. My solution to the assault on my patience and darkening mood today was to surgically remove the foul troll off my CPU and simply go straight to my internet server to collect my email.

I know this approach isn't convenient for businesses and folks who are running more complex uses of the email / communication systems out there, but for heaven sakes folks, a soul-less AI droid could have resolved all the problems that are popping up like a proper case of the plague running afoul in the computer community!

In my situation, (Windows 10 / 64bit / 32gB memory and a mother board with a hand crank affixed)., my CPU started having mini-strokes the second I rebooted the machine after installing the NEW OUTLOOK. After 10+ seizures and automatic system shut down, ...(thank you MALWARE,,) as well as using every live saving trick I could think of, I wisely RIPPED the "NEW" Outlook right out of the solid state hard drive....and with a great sense of relief I might add.

I often wonder how this company actually stays in business except by brute force of pushing new software down our throats due to their death grip on the software arena. Nowhere in this business model, do the software "wizards" factor in compatibility to older architecture hardware systems with as much enthusiasm as they do to the sharp edged push toward "a shiny new ugrade" without proper research to the overall effectiveness of their product;.

Do we have to buy a new computer with all the bells and whistles every 18 months to keep up with the keepers of the "code"...?

t's not really rocket science to write programs that will "bend and go with the flow" aso as to adapt to the vast range of hardware and operating systems....give me a break. For me, I'm going to take a big jump back to XP and / or Windows -7- loading up from full install disks;

I know I'm sounding off like an "old buzzard" who drives a car with huge tail fins with a "three on tree" gear shifter, but sometimes, returning to the simple life of the "good old days" when cars were made of metal and the computer, (albeit...not wickedly fast), they did operate with much greater reliability.

BEEF up your cyber security and control the flow of data before it gets to the primary machine is the battle here. Bring back the "C" prompt and the days when Windows -7- had a decent image viewer. It's time to seek the better mouse trap and it's not expensive to do either.
