I have installed a standalone version of Office 2024 Professional Plus on a new computer running Windows 11. I went ahead and set up new Outlook (regrettable) with my email accounts and then my emails were downloaded. One of the first things I noticed is that new Outlook is quite counterintuitive and settings are either hard to find - or nonexistent. For example, I can't find any way to adjust the Junk email settings (it's simply not there). Secondly, when I tried to import some .pst files, I found that I would only be able to do so using Classic Outlook. Really?
Anyway, when I toggled to Classic Outlook I got that older version, except that it was blank (no emails, no email accounts, etc.). It's as if I would have to set it up all over again.
When I went to the Start menu and then chose Outlook (not new Outlook) from the apps, it just opened the new Outlook version.
When I tried to install Classic Outlook software from Microsoft, it downloaded, but then I got an error message saying "We can't install" followed by "To install this product, first uninstall the following product(s) Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 -en-us."
When I tried to install Classic Outlook from Microsoft using another online source, I next got a similar error message in Spanish. (?)
I even tried your suggestion above of going into the Registry Editor and found that the values were already set to 0.
I just want to have all of my information in Classic Outlook and forget that I ever saw this awful dysfunctional new Outlook.
Lastly, shame on Microsoft for bringing out this flawed beta software! :(
Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated because I'm exasperated!
