I click on the blue New Contact button & nothing happens. There is no error message. I have cleared the Outlook cache. I also did Quick Repair & Online Repair but I still cannot add new contacts.

This article has some high level steps to run new Outlook and classic Outlook on the same machine, Run new Outlook and classic Outlook side-by-side - Microsoft Support.

The classic Outlook start executable Outlook.exe is in this folder, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16. You can right click on Outlook.exe and click Pin to Start if it is not already there. Double click on Outlook.exe to run it and then right click on the icon on the Task Bar and click Pin to Task Bar.

If you try to start classic Outlook but it switches back to new Outlook you can set the registry key in this article to stop that from happening, Toggle out of the new Outlook for Windows preview - Microsoft Support.

I raised the issue to my peers that cover New Outlook so hopefully they can help get more follow up on this issue. The best I can suggest is for those that have M365 to ask your tenant admin to open a ticket from the M365 portal. This will help get the issue investigated and escalated.

There is an incident today about this issue with Outlook Web Access (OWA).

    Incident: EX930607

    Latest Message

Title: Users can't access existing contacts or create new contacts in Outlook on the web

More info: When users click on contacts, no information is displayed. Additionally, when users click on "New Contact", nothing happens. As a way to avoid this issue, we recommend using Outlook Monarch or Microsoft Teams.

Current status: We're awaiting feedback from your representatives for additional details on the impact scenario and fresh HTTP Archive format (HAR) files. Whilst we wait for the additional information, we're continuing with our analysis of the fiddler trace logs to further our understanding of the root cause.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and users attempting to access existing contacts or create new contacts in Outlook on the web are impacted.

The prior suggestion I had was to test disabling Offline mode or disable Offline and then re-enable. This did not seem to help though. If you want to test it, steps to disable/enable Offline Mode are in this article, Work offline in Outlook - Microsoft Support.

Offline is turned on by default in new Outlook for Windows. To turn it off or on, do the following:

    1. Select Settings>GeneralOffline.
    2. Select the toggle Enable offline email, calendar, and people to turn offline access on or off.
    3. Select Save.

not one of the suggestions that Microsoft Agent has offered has helped. I am far past the time to leave MS altogether but sadly, it is still taking a lot of persuasion to get the founder of my company to move to another platform. Slowly it's working and not being able to add contacts to my database, and I am the director or strategic partnerships and real estate development across the US, is incredibly detrimental to my ability to be able to remain in contact with clients.
