Email from Microsoft titled "Action Needed – You may lose access to some of your third-party mail and calendar apps" Is this a scam?

The sender is "******@communication.microsoft.com"

Its telling us that "Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email and calendar apps which ask you to sign in with only your Microsoft Account username and password. To keep you safe you will need to use a mail or calendar app which supports Microsoft’s modern authentication methods."

I access hotmail email accounts from a MacbookAir laptop using the Apple email app. Also access from an iPhone 11.

It seems legit. Can anyone confirm if it is?

    What if your email account is .msn.com? I have 2 different emails.msn.com and only getting the message for one of the emails?

    I contacted Tech.This.Out for help and they assured me it will only affect my calendars.

    I am the most non-tech person and I have no idea what to do. I received another email last night this time from outlook which was exactly the same as the first one from microsoft on 6/29/24.

    In this case, Outlook.com = Live.com = Hotmail = MSN mail. No you will not be switched to Outlook.com.
