Email from Microsoft titled "Action Needed – You may lose access to some of your third-party mail and calendar apps" Is this a scam?

The sender is "******@communication.microsoft.com"

Its telling us that "Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email and calendar apps which ask you to sign in with only your Microsoft Account username and password. To keep you safe you will need to use a mail or calendar app which supports Microsoft’s modern authentication methods."

I access hotmail email accounts from a MacbookAir laptop using the Apple email app. Also access from an iPhone 11.

It seems legit. Can anyone confirm if it is?

    YOU HAVE MADE A MESS OF EMAIL. CANNOT OPEN MANY ATACHMENTS OR ATTEND A WEBINAIR UNLESS I ADD MICROSOFT APPS. I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE MY PHONE IF I ADDED ALL THE APPS I KEEP GETTING MESSAGES TO ADD. THEN YESTERDAY MANY OF US TRIED TO LISTEN TO A WEBAIR AND WERE NOT ABLE TO BECAUSE THE REQUIRED APP DID NOT WORK.

    SEEMS EVERY UPGRADE YOU DO IS REALLY A GROSS DOWNGRADE

    ONLY WAY IS TO ADD THE APP USE IT FOR THE TASK THEN DELETE IT TO KEEP ENOUGH STORAGE ON YOUR PHONE.

    REALLY A BAD SIGN FOR INVESTORS AND FUTURE OF THE COMPANY

    SUGGESTIONS FOR WHO WE SHOULD SWITCH TO

    If I'm on another page and an email comes through, the notification in the bottom right of the screen says Outlook - new. I'll have to see if someone can help me with the screen shot. When I say I'm tech illiterate, I mean it!!
