Outlook app currently non-functional on Samsung Watch 7, Ultra, 6, 5, etc.

EDIT: September 13, 2024:

As of Outlook version 4.2435.1 Outlook is working again on my watch for both email and calendar events. I had to wait a little bit after I installed this new version before calendar events started sinking, but everything does work now.

Original message:

When I launch the Outlook app on my Watch Ultra I get the error in below:

"Add an account on mobile to use the app"

I am running the Outlook app on my phone (S21) and have multiple accounts (Hotmail and Gmail) set up in the Outlook app.

The app refuses to open normally and function. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my watch. I've installed the app on the watch from the Play Store on my phone, and from the Play Store on the watch.

No change.

When I set up my Galaxy Watch Ultra I did not do a restore from my previous Galaxy watch, and I also cleared cache on the watch after setup, so the watch is as fresh as can be. The watch is up-to-date w/the most recent FW from Samsung, ver AXG2.

Others are reporting the same issue:

Please release an updated version of the Outlook app for Android watches that fixes this problem. Currently the Outlook Android watch app is unusable.

    Hello,

This issue is being experienced across our organization. Executives who rely upon mobile devices such as Android and iOS devices, inclusive of watches such as these, cannot access their Outlook. More urgently, calendars are inaccessible on a worn device. This adds a degree of severity to the situation.

I'm looking forward to a resolution and when it can be expected. As over 45 replies and 109 have reported this, and within the organization, the issue is impacting more than a handful of people: This is an application-wide outage.

Please advise on the current status and when an update will be made available to correct this regression in the client.

    Thank you,

    Tom

Thanks, Tom, for laying this out so well for Microsoft. For many of us, Outlook connectivity is the main reason for buying a smart watch. (My wife already knows I snore...)

    Hi,

I have the same problem. I went further and reset my Samsung Ultra Watch 7. Reinstalled everything. Why Microsoft is not testing updates before introducing them and why after receiving complains from users it doesn't publish information about the problem in all possible media. Your reply about contacting Samsung to solve the problem is typical for huge, monopolistic company. I hope the problem will be solved soon.

    Marek

I have the same issue. Just bought the Samsung watch ultra and I'm not able to connect to me email accounts via Outlook on my watch.

I tried to re-install the app but this doesn't solve the problem. I still get the same message ("add your account on the phone").

    Wear OS is up-to-date.

On my Samsung S24 all email accounts work fine with Outlook.
