Classic Outlook - Until when will it be supported & available for use?

It seems that I can not sync my gmail accounts with the new version of outlook unless I give outlook complete control over all aspects of my google account - including all data on my g drive, and all my password managment. This is unacceptable.

Classic Outlook is increasingly buggy. emails seem increasingly to get stuck in the outbox, and sometimes in the draft folder.

my work is on one system and my personal life is on the other. I'd like to have all access to my email in one place but still maintain some privacy between the two worlds.

The above works if your desktop app is still functioning for the web-based Outlook, here's a workaround that might help:

1. Create a Browser Shortcut:
   • Open your web browser and navigate to the classic version of Outlook on the Web. The URL for the classic view is generally longer and might include specific parameters indicating the classic version.
   • In most cases, the URL for the classic version should look something like this: https://outlook.office.com/owa/?path=/classic.
   • Once you're on the classic version, bookmark the page.
2. Add the Bookmark to the Start Menu:
   • For Chrome:
     • Open the bookmark manager (Ctrl+Shift+O).
     • Drag the bookmark to your desktop.
     • Right-click on the desktop shortcut, select "Pin to Start".
   • For Edge:
     • Click on the three dots in the top-right corner, go to "Apps", and select "Install this site as an app".
     • Once installed, right-click on the app icon and select "Pin to Start".

By creating a browser shortcut to the classic version of Outlook on the Web and pinning it to the Start menu you should be able to bypass the new version completely

Here’s a way to create a button that directly opens the classic version of the new Outlook on the Start Menu:

1. Locate the Classic Outlook Executable:
   • Navigate to the folder where the classic version of Outlook is installed. This is usually found in:
     • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE
     • or C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE for 32-bit Office.
2. Create a Shortcut:
   • Right-click on the OUTLOOK.EXE file and select "Create shortcut".
   • Move this shortcut to your desktop if it's not already there.
3. Rename the Shortcut:
   • Rename the shortcut to something like "Classic Outlook" to avoid confusion. Right-click on the shortcut, select "Rename", and enter the new name.
4. Pin the Shortcut to Start Menu:
   • Right-click on the "Classic Outlook" shortcut on your desktop.
     1. Unpin the New Outlook Icon (Optional):
        • If you want to avoid confusion, you can unpin the new Outlook icon by right-clicking on it in the Start Menu and selecting "Unpin from Start".
     2. Ensure Registry Settings:
        • This step is optional but recommended to ensure the classic version is preferred:
        • Press Windows key + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
        • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences.
        • Find the UseNewOutlook entry and set its value to 0.
     These steps should help you create a button for the classic version of Outlook on your Start Menu, ensuring you bypass the new version.

In the new outlook, click on help & then there will be a tab that says Classic Outlook. Click on that. However, every time it opens, it goes to the new & you have to go through the steps to get to classic. I haven't found a way to get it to open to the Classic.

I don't like the new Outlook because there are no Notes or Tasks.

Also, it always opens to the new version & I have to go to Help & click on Classic Outlook.

Has anyone figures out how to get it to open to the classic?
