Classic Outlook - Until when will it be supported & available for use?

New Outlook is just the web version in an application wrapper. It's junk for functionality.

We are paying for office 365 licenses to get functional applications to install on our devices. Not web versions with crippled capability. It's also the same when you open things like a Word document in the web/teams. It can actually break formatting/features that have been applied using the application Word.

I'd say I don't know what Microsoft are thinking with these things, but that would imply they are actually thinking about anything but $$.

I have been using Outlook since Outlook 97. Before that Microsoft Mail. I have installed both in-house and O365 Exchange since the beginning. I use Outlook Classic as the most used app I use on my PC. I dedicate a 32" monitor just for it. The new Outlook does not have most of the classic features that I use. I live in shortcuts menu where I maintain 4 emails. I use the Calendar as my billing calendar with separate views. I love how it works. Adding email directly to Calendar is another feature missing. None of these features are in the new Outlook. Also I have used the new Outlook and it does not use the standard PST OST. Ads are added to used as home user. Email configuration and loading different profiles is not an option. Must things I do and need.

I maintain 15+ O365 clients and most use the Classic Outlook. They also do not like the Outlook new. Unless the new Outlook has all these features I will not ever switch!!

I suspect there are MILLIONS of other users that feel that sure keep the Outlook new for home users or the usual people with 1 email and don't need all the other features but NEVER kill the Classic Outlook for the rest of us.

I have dealt with many email programs and email accounts over the 30+ years. Classic Outlook and 0365/Exchange is the only email I recommend because it works!! IMAP with Outlook is a major problem with some of my clients. Does not matter if home or Gmail Host. It's SLOW. I see the Send/Receive at the bottom notifications all the time. How Email, Calendar and Contacts are synced with everything. Gmail IMAP can't come close to this. GMail is fine with 1 email and you like to live in a browser BUT the Desktop Classic Outlook does it better with everything way.

The reality is that nobody in Microsoft gives a damn about your proton mail bridge, bud.

But you’ll be able to use the Classic Outlook until 2029 and by then you’ll find a workaround or even find out that Proton went belly up and you won’t need a Proton mail bridge anymore 😬.

Because the new one lacks the drop and drag emails to Calendar and drop and drag to folders on the computer! One of the most useful features in Windows!

my classic outlook stopped opening today at about 12 ?
