How to uninstall Outlook (new) on Windows 11 and prevent it from redownloading when opening the Windows Mail?

Hello!

Could you please help me with uninstalling the new Outlook from my computer (Windows 11) as I would still like to use the outdated Windows Mail app?

What I tried:

  1. Uninstalled the new Outlook from settings (Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps)
  2. Blocked new Outlook preinstallation via:
  • Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -AllUsers -Online -PackageName (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.OutlookForWindows).PackageFullName
  • Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Package (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.OutlookForWindows).PackageFullName
  1. Blocked new Outlook installation as part of Mail and Calendar deprecation via:
  • Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online | Where {$_.DisplayName -match "microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps"} | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online -PackageName {$_.PackageName}
  • Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Package (Get-AppxPackage microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps).PackageFullName

All shell commands were run as Administrator and I also deleted OutlookUpdate folder in Registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\Orchestrator\UScheduler_Oobe\OutlookUpdate

I would appreciate any advice regarding my question :)

    Microsoft changed the mail synchronisation settings in Windows.

    Already in Windows 10 you no longer could view all the spam mail in favor of the Webmail where it was possible.

    More recently Mail&Calendar has no longer the same synchronisation as the webmail and NewWindows mail app.

    When you delete a mail, close the Mail&Calendar app and open it again it´s possible the deleted mail is still there.

    This appears to be working. It's been 1 hr and New Outlook hasn't come back so far.

    Just uninstall it normally. Then go to %Programfiles%\WindowsApps\ folder and create a file called "Microsoft.OutlookForWindows_1.2024.1107.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe" now open the properties and under security tab, remove all permissions for it from all accounts. This is important so the mail app cannot delete it and put the freaking thing back. My main reason was to do that , because every single time i had the mail open it just installed the "freak ad show" back on my computers and I don't want to see any ads in my mailbox. You need to do some research before you can get in the folders Windows Security don't really like you to poking in there, and changing staff. Hope it helps.

    Same here, that didn’t work for me. New outlook continues to install whenever I launch the Mail app.

    My guess is the Mail app performs the install of New Outlook, bypassing windows update.

    Well....that didn't work either. Tried twice. If you have any other thoughts let me know. New Outlook is like a persistent weed that just never dies.
