How to uninstall Outlook (new) on Windows 11 and prevent it from redownloading when opening the Windows Mail?

I did exactly what you indicated to do - opened Powershell, ran it as an Administrator, pasted all of the code you provided and hit enter, then restarted my computer to make sure the changes took place, then reopened Windows Mail and, lo and behold, New Outlook reinstalled itself again. Any other suggestions??

In a CMD with admin, type: sc.exe config appidsvc start=auto

Then follow this guide: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-8-applocker-step-by-step-guide

Select Outlook For Windows as Deny. If it ask to create other rules to allow installing and running other apps, click yes.

Reboot and now you can uninstall Outlook (new)

If you want to go back to Windows Mail, you can try the following methods:

1. Select all the codes below and copy them.
2. Open PowerShell with admin privileges, you can search for PowerShell in the search bar, right-click on it, and select run with admin.
3. Thank you, Fred. This does seem to have "worked." Albeit, with a little caveat. I did everything that you had indicated, however, Microsoft still "tries" to install/load the new Outlook - however, it seems to be what I would refer to as a "non-working" version and hasn't yet forced/opened at its will any new version of Outlook. So.....I am cautiously optimistic. Thanks for the feedback and if there is any suggestion you might have with the respect to permanently blocking the "non-working" version of the new Outlook that you can think of, I would be most appreciative. Thanks again.

I found out the new Outlook version is in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.OutlookForWindows_1.2024.925.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.
I prevented the installation of the new Outlook bij renaming of the folder Microsoft.OutlookForWindows_1.2024.925.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.
To do this I had to become owner of the ( Hidden) folder C:\Program Files\WindowsApps.
