Remove NEW Outlook from system and revert to MAIL

Mail was recently updated to Version 16005.14326.22062.0.

Mail will not start up without contortions. New Outlook has taken over. It is wasting too of my much time. My emails are too important to be monkeyed around with by Microsoft. I would like to decide when I want to install New Outlook. I don't want it forced on me.

New Outlook starts everytime Mail is closed. This causes New Outlook to go into a loop that takes several process to get Mail to start running again.

  1. C:\Users[your computer username]\AppData\Local\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\ according to the path. Migration\ settings.json, delete the file settings.json.
  2. Once the json file is deleted. New Outlook starts when Mail is opened. Click the switch to classic. New Outlook closes. Launch Mail and Mail starts running.

It has also lost mail in one of my folders. However GMail has retained the files.

I don't want to run New Outlook at this time. The last time I did this it caused havoc on my email and calender. I also don't like the fact that New Outlook deletes files older than 180 days, this does not work for me.

I tried unistalling New Outlook, but it restores as soon as Mail is Launched.

I just want to run MAIL.

I don't want NEW Outlook.

If nothing can be done, I will start running Thunderbird and eventually stop using all Microsoft products.

I use my windows computer to mainly do emails and surf the web. None of which requires MS Windows. I need my email to be stable and reliable. I don't need cloud storage or Microsoft 365. I am using it for home use. Microsoft should make a Windows version for home use, Don't force me into enterprise versions.

STOP forcing NEW Outlook on me! It is neither stable or reliable!

    I think it's obvious that they don't care about their users who use their mail service and apps for free. If they do, they won't be releasing unfinished free product that's full of problems.

    Microsoft must realize that many people's lives are centered around Emails and Calendar. I have missed appointments, emails have not been sent, emails lost in new folders created by NEW Outlook, Today lost all emails in a Folder. NEW Outlook scrambles MAIL.

    I cannot function without Emails getting to me and not knowing if my email has been sent or not. Calenders losing entries and alarms not going off since time zones were changed.

    Or worse yet having clowns screwing around in my emails and logging in and out of my account.

    New Outlook, has limitation and does not do many things that Mail can. If MS decides to stop supporting Mail without including requested options which were availible in the Outlook and Mail it makes no sense to use an inferior unstable version.

    The new Outlook is still under development: not everything works yet

    There are lots of settings that are available in the options in classic Outlook and MAIL, but are missing in the new Outlook.

    Another particular problem is that the new Outlook no longer allows multiple mailboxes to be merged into a single inbox, which makes managing multiple email accounts considerably more difficult.

    If MAIL is phased out without NEW Outlook having the options I need, I will be forced move my computer to Thunderbird email and eventually away from all Microsoft products all together. There is a large group of Microsoft users that will be doing the same. I am not sure what Microsoft is thinking by rolling out a product that is underdevelopment, I don't want to be a beta tester when it comes to something as important as emails when there are many other apps that can do emails far better and are stable.

    I don't mean to be rude but I can tell you one thing, no one including Microsoft cares what you want to use. Many including myself agree the new outlook isn't ready. The only thing Microsoft did wrong is forcing it down our throat.

    As a side note, I have all 3 versions of email clients, the default Mail app, Outlook (new) and Outlook 2016 desktop app. I can choose which app I want to use and it doesn't "redirect" me to Outlook (new) app.

    If I launch Mail app, it stays there. Similarly, if I get into Outlook (new) app or Outlook 2016, it remains there.

    I suppose I don't understand why many are complaining about getting redirected to Outlook (new) app whenever they get into Mail or Outlook classic desktop app. Mine does not do that.

    If you hate getting things shoved down your throat, Microsoft products aren't for you. Trust me, they will force install other new software whenever they like. There's no more software beta testing. End users are now becoming beta testers. That seems to be a new normal.

    There is the win Mail app and MS Outlook as a component of some Office desktop suites

    "New Outlook" will be perminent at eoy

    In OL desktop, Classic & New Outlook or simply Views

    I run Desktop Classic OL with multiple maila ccounts, and the win11 Mail app (new Outlook) with the same mail accounts without issue, all on multiple devices
