How do I enable copy and paste in the new outlook?

First of all, We need to confirm if you're trying to copy/paste plain texts or documents to be able to better assist you.

If you mean that you can't copy and paste the content of your mail, You can try the below workaround and see if it can achieve your goal,  Open the e-mail.  Look at the right-hand side where it says "reply" with the arrow pointing down after it.  Click on the arrow after the word "reply".  A menu will appear.  Click on "open in a separate window".  From the new window, you should be able to copy and paste anything you want.

Also if you try to copy/paste attachments, please note that it's not feasible for now. I do understand your need for this, and we do apologize if we are not able to meet your requirements. We will surely raise your concerns to our Product Team and hopefully, this can be included in future updates.

However, the new Outlook is still a work in progress. If you don't mind, please provide feedback on this feature request by creating a new post in the Feedback Portal at Outlook · Community (microsoft.com), or directly through your new outlook (Help-->Feedback), Microsoft is committed to enhancing the customer experience by continually examining suggestions to include in the design and development of future product upgrades based on your suggestions.

Hi, I will revert to a different email provider as I dont want to have to work around to achieve an end goal.

Copy and paste from a variety of sources eg excel etc or from previous email returns are important functions for me in my work, if thats content or email addresses I need to do this quickly.

1. The reply button is not "on the right" but on the task bar above (at least in some setups).
2. The menu that appears when the "reply" button is clicked does not include the option you say "Open in separate window"
3. Even if all that worked, it's infuriating that one can't capture and right click to copy or paste email content into or out of any email.
4. One of the biggest problems is not being able to copy an email address from some other document or from the body of an email into the Address line. This is an action that must be done very often by most users. Having to re-type an email address directly into the line is not only an inconvenience but also creates room for errors and delays in communications being received by the intended party.
5. I also can't seem to save attachments into whatever location in my files I need them - the only options offered are "download" (which automatically goes to a Download file so I have to go to that folder, then move the document to where I need to keep it); or "Save to One Drive" which has very limited storage space unless I BUY MORE, which of course is the core point. Everything is set up to make users pay more so Microsoft can make more money, and we wouldn't even have access to our own documents when the internet is down.
6. Copying attachments, and "save as" functions are critical, and "it's not feasible right now" is a ridiculous response. It's essentially the same reply to the issue of Spellcheck and Autocorrect not functioning correctly, which has been known and unsolved since at least May 2023 when early testers complained about that.

How inadequate can a company reply get? The idea that this release was put out and forced on subscribers without being functional is incompetent and unacceptable. Your weak apologies are pointless and not any help at all. Whoever is responsible for this release absolutely should be fired, and the company owes all its users more than an apology.

I do need to copy and paste attachments, so if this is not available, how can i do my work.
