Hi everyone, I am getting this error message again, "Unable to verify account name or password" from my hotmail.it account on the MacBook. Despite attempting all the solutions suggested by Google/Apple, none seem to resolve the issue. A temporary fix I found was to delete hotmail account from the mail account list, and then re-add it again. This worked for a few weeks, but then the error message resurfaced. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Felicia.

Thank you I will definitely check out your kind response so far I am able to access it if I go to desktop shortcuts not bottom toolbar that’s when I have the issue I discovered this fix yesterday now I am afraid of messing with it.I am saving your answer and many thanks💫
Yes I went to email -add account -and selected exchange from choices
Entered email address and password and mailbox rebuilt. This is on my iMac
Previously I added Hotmail/ outlook as “other”. Had to put it as Exchange

This happened to me I had to add the account as Exchange not “other”outlook or Hotmail
So far so good. Why suddenly the change no idea but it repopulated all my mail
deleted my hotmail account from Mail and added "Microsoft Exchange" using my hotmail email and password. All good now
