In the outlook search bar "Search <0w>" appears instead of a plain "Search". The search works fine but this <0W> is annoying. How can I delete it and why it appeared suddenly?

+1 Same odd issue/behaviour.
My outlook was encountering some odd issues over the past week or two. Performed the repair process, would fix, then only to repeat and have no ability to open the program. Second step, online repair, this worked, seemed to fix things, however, essentially reset Outlook, including the registration and Office Key. Had to hunt around for a number of days to locate the key and re register. (Not happy Microsoft - especially as it IS a legit version of Office and Key "PAID" from MS direct).While the app's appear to be in working order now, I have lost a number of the recent links to docs (recent docs) within the open screen on Word/Excel etc.Outlook carries this very odd '<0w>' within the search bar also as mentioned by others.
Sounds like an issue with the recent updates pushed out my MS. (Typical).

I have the same issue as well as of this week.
Same issue appeared after an update that made dark mode work again. I have a feeling that what your seeing a bug and likely just a color code to turn the "Search" text white but it is not formatted correctly (since the update). This will likely get fixed in a future update.
