Hi,

I have a PC with windows 11 and Office 365. I have installed the New Teams on it.
the user cannot create a teams meeting from outlook calendar.

When I looked for the add-in Options>Add-ins, I didnt see the add-in there, not even in the inactive or the disabled.

The add-in is installed when I looked in %AppData\local\microsoft\TeamsMeetingAddin..

I tried to uninstall Teams but again same problem.

I took the plugin from a PC that can launch teams meetings from outlook and put it in the folder of the PC that cant and it worked for a day now its not.

thank you

This is helpful as a one time deal though. This doesn't help if the addin is updated. Presumably MS will update the addin in the future, and if installed machine wide because of other blocking factors per-user, then we'll need to do this again. And again. Because the addin itself when installed this way cannot auto-update. MS has to dream up another solution here other than asking admins to keep an eye on problems or new versions ourselves, and run this command again on fleets of tens or hundreds of thousands of workstations to update the addin.

Long term - please advise - what's the solution here?

Teams Meeting Add In MSI can be installed machine wide, if you use the command described here

We don't allow users access to Add/Remove programs. Why can't Microsoft just make a per-machine installer for the Teams Add-in for Outlook. That way it goes into a directory everyone can access and we can ensure it loads via GPO Not sure why they are making this so hard.

Why is the TeamsMeetingAddIn.msi failing to install in your scenario?
    GPO? AppLocker?

The best suggestion we can give would be to run a script that deploys TMA, as described here

This is a pain to do for thousand of users.

On April 1st MS is gonna uninstall Classic teams for everyone, and if they won't uninstall the addin as well, people will be stuck without it.

Which means somehow we gotta figure how to uninstall the addin for everyone and re-launch teams.
