Hello,

my name is Igor and I have problem in new outlook app. Im using 3 emails in old app. 1 private and 2 work accounts. Everything is ok. But when i switched to new outlook i cant add second work email. There is error:

"This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web"

Why? why it works in old but not in new version ? Its feature or bug ? I want to use app not web, and i need this email not another... I would like to use outlook but this is ridiculous and i consider move to another app...

I did some searching and found this:

    1. Uninstall the new Outlook 365 Pre application.
    2. Open the Mail for Windows app (It will ask you to open microsoft store and install Outlook and select it as default app).
    3. Ignore and cancel it. Again open the Mail for Windows app, keep repeating the same process again and again. After 3-4 tries, it'll open the old-yet-gold Mail for Windows.

    It worked for me!

it seems to be linked to the type of license

i am an admin for multiple businesses and the only ones with issues are the exchange online licenses.

Indeed, exchange online licenses are the ones that are affected.

The diagnose of the problem is done.

Where is Microsoft to solve this issue?

I thought so at first too, but I was not able to resolve the problem by upgrading licenses - and in addition, I am not having the problem on my own user accounts where one of them are Exchange Online licenses. So it's not specific to licensing.

In the screenshot you can see 3 accounts (domains removed) are currently connected to the new preview outlook, but one of them is Exchange Online 1.

Pure genius from Microsoft!! As is often the case, breaking more than they fix with each new iteration of the software.
