Hello,

my name is Igor and I have problem in new outlook app. Im using 3 emails in old app. 1 private and 2 work accounts. Everything is ok. But when i switched to new outlook i cant add second work email. There is error:

"This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web"

Why? why it works in old but not in new version ? Its feature or bug ? I want to use app not web, and i need this email not another... I would like to use outlook but this is ridiculous and i consider move to another app...

I noticed this on Windows PC's, however new outlook for the Mac OS seems to handle the accounts absolutely fine. I sit next to someone that has 3mailboxes added to their New Outlook, but if I try and add the same I get told there is an issue with the license. Clearly it isn't a licence issue if it works on another operating system. The same applies if I add them to Outlook for an Android Phone, or iPhone.

It's not a license issue. It's a design choice made by Microsoft. We're trying to fight it, you can see the details here if you wish:

Only New Outlook for Windows - so far - is refusing these accounts. We do not know why. Microsoft Support confirms that it was a design choice, and there is no fix, but they cannot tell us more. That's why we're trying to get this feedback portal item upvoted and commented. It makes no sense at all.

I managed to sign in with the account that was not being accepted. Unfortunately, I can't recall how I managed it but it was nothing complicated - basically I stumbled upon it. Sorry I can't be more specific. ;)

The fix is simple. Dump any sort of Microsoft email clients and switch to a third part solution. I switched to MailBird a couple of months ago, and couldn't be happier. All my accounts work, and Yahoo works flawlessly. Microsoft has had problems with Yahoo's email for years, and still does. The third party developers don't seem to have an issue with Yahoo though. Microsoft can't get email right for whatever reason, and it may be by design.

am able to use all of my personal email accounts with the new version of Outlook, but when I try to add my work email I am not able to, I contacted the provider host and explained my issue, they say it is a Outlook problem since I can use the 2016 version with no issues. I am willing to continue trying to resolve but really need more and clear direction to getting this resolved instead of a Videorecorder instruction manual version, leave out the unnecessary filling, just the meat and gravy please. My host provider starts with Go, and I have pulled them through the ringer to try to get it working, lets see if the big M can get it working or update it so it will work for me, :). I am running Windows 10 Pro 64, currently my processor is not accepted for Windows 11, AMD FX, hoping that will change.
