Why is the "play my emails" feature in outlook being retired in June 2024? I use it for 2 hours everyday, and it makes me much more efficient.

I also use Read My Emails daily during my commute, or even at home if I am doing chores. It is the only way I can keep up with my emails. I was hoping that it was being retired because it was being replaced with something better: read my emails, read my Teams chats, etc...I am disappointed to see that it is not being replaced at all!! Please resume it or replace with something better

I echo Nathan’s feedback. I also rely on my app to read emails on my drive or walk. This feature has been a game changer for me, as I get hundreds of emails a day…I gained a lot of efficiency. I’ve shared this tip with many of my co-workers.

You have not explained why this function is being retired?

I see you can still do this on my computer, but that is not the same benefit as being able to do it on the APP when I’m mobile. If I’m at my desk looking at my computer..I can simply read my emails and don’t need someone to read for me.

Please consider to keep this feature, or something similar. There are some things that can improve the feature..but for now I’d be happy to just have it.

I use the Play My Emails features multiple times every day on my iPhone. Including similar features in Windows 11 doesn't help me. I need to hear my emails while I drive, walk, and so on. Once the feature exists, why would it removed from the mobile app?

Play my emails was a serious lifesaver for me and I am also upset about the removal of the feature. I don't use the dictation feature on my competer, but I guess ill try the new AI feature. To supplement the phone use I downloaded an app called speaking email so far I like it! I can also forward emails to people in my contacts and I can make the robot voice speak much faster!

It also skips email signature and can read attachments!

Just to amplify some of the comments made, while I am not sure whether this feature started with the right “use case”, it should be very apparent that the real benefit of this service was in being able to automate the reading of emails. I found it just as game changing as I am sure others have already stated, and I think that MSFT can look to leverage this feature in a major way given its so desperately needed ….if in some way that feature of having emails read aloud (with a friendly voice and basic pause, rewind, fwd features) is available in the Microsoft ecosystem ….I am sure that MILLIONS would love to know!
