I am suddenly receiving spam calendar invitations/appointments in Outlook (Microsoft 365 Family). Disappointing that Microsoft has not addressed this. My McAfee virus scan is also giving me the "No Viruses" when I scan.

I agree with all of this. There are some pretty simple things Microsoft could be doing to block the junk and spam. I'm about to delete my hotmail calendar completely and just switch to google.
- Report the spam invitations as phishing or junk to Microsoft. You can do this by selecting the invitation in your inbox and clicking on the "Report" button at the top. This will help Microsoft improve their spam filters and protect other users
Feature Request 1:
It would be helpful if this were an option on the calendar event itself - I see this junk pop up on my calendar, and I can only Decline the invite (which has the effect of confirming my address exists for the spammer, so they can send more spam), or Delete it - there is no option to report it as junk.
Feature Request 2:
In Gmail, it is possible to configure the event settings to only add invitations to my calendar if the sender is known/safe. This would be a useful setting for those of us who don't want to block all unknown email senders, but do wish to block unknown senders from littering our calendars with spam.
Feature Request 3/Bug:
If I open a spam calendar invite from my calendar, it does not seem to respect my Junk E-Mail setting to only load images/links/attachments from safe/known senders, so the image loads - which also has the effect of confirming to the spammer that my email address is real.
This is happening with such frequency it's making the service unusable.
I suspect that Microsoft changed and made you accept the EULA (agreement) that said we will no longer filter anything and let it hit you directly, unless of course you signed for 365 and paid monthly subscription. It is not in their interest to prevent spam.
US and EU needs to hold mail service providers accountable to ensuring that the platform is reasonably free of SPAM and Phishing. Microsoft is not going to self regulate themselves - it is not in their interest.
Unfortunately, I think spammers have just found the latest "weak link" and are exploiting it until Microsoft figures out how to put a stop to it. I will say that now, when I report an email as phishing or junk, it removes the calendar entry. I hope they come out with a solution quickly. The calendar notifications are annoying, and I really can't turn them off unless I want to miss out on my own calendar events.
