Scheduling and managing events using Outlook.com calendar
Hello Azrael,
I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.
The issue with not being able to save edited events on a shared calendar in Outlook, accompanied by a "Something went wrong" error, suggests there might be a problem with the Outlook service, the calendar's permissions, or a conflict with your account settings. Here are steps to try and resolve the issue:
- Review Calendar Permissions: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to edit events in the shared calendar. Sometimes permissions can change or get updated incorrectly.
- Use Outlook Web App (OWA): If you're using the desktop app, try making the edits through the Outlook Web App (OWA) at outlook.com.](https://outlook.com%29.) Sometimes the web version doesn't have the same issue.
- Update Outlook: Ensure your Outlook application is updated to the latest version. Go to
File>Office Account>Update Options>Update Now. - Remove and Re-add the Calendar: Remove the shared calendar from your view and then re-add it. This can sometimes reset any issues with the calendar's synchronization.
- Disable Add-ins: Add-ins can sometimes interfere with Outlook's functionality. Try disabling them to see if that resolves the issue. Go to
File>Options>Add-ins> at the bottom of the page, selectCOM Add-insand clickGo, then uncheck any active add-ins and restart Outlook. - Sometimes, the issue might be with your Outlook profile. Creating a new profile can resolve underlying issues. Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add, and follow the prompts to create a new profile.
I hope this helps.
Best Regards, Ibhadighi
