Unable to send emails to Yahoo accounts

Starting a couple of days ago, I am unable to send emails to Yahoo accounts from my Outlook email. Here is the error message I receive:

Your message wasn't delivered. Despite repeated attempts to deliver your message, a connection to the remote server was closed abruptly.

Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that your email system is unable to connecto their email system. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

For Email Admins
This often indicates the recipient's firewall SMTP fixup setting or other firewall settings are preventing the SMTP protocol negotiation from succeeding.

For more information and tips to fix this issue see this article: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=389361.

I went to the link suggested, and did not understand the instructions. Please assist. Thank you.

Same issue here too. Just started happening at the same time as posted above. It does seem to be mostly with yahoo.com email addresses, but we have had a few other domains bounce back too.

98% of our emails are going through, but some are not, especially to Yahoo.

Until Microsoft fixes this issue, I recommend to my team that they assume no emails are getting through and text or call our clients if they do not reply to the email.

We talked to Microsoft support and we had the DKIM entries in the DNS, but it was not enabled in Office365.

First check your DNS and make sure that you have two CNAME records:

    selector1._domainkey Points to value: selector1-yourdomainname-com._domainkey.yourdomainname.onmicrosoft.com

    selector2._domainkey Points to value: selector2-yourdomainnamecom._domainkey.LoneStarStripes.onmicrosoft.com

(replace yourdomainname with your actual domain name)

    Then go into Office365.

    Select Admin.

    Select All admin centers

    Select Security

    Select Policies & rules

    Select Threat policies

    Select Email authentication settings

    Select DKIM

    Click on your domain name

click the slider from Disabled to Enable.

If this gives you a client Error it will actually give you the exact CNAMES to put into your DNS.

    Select OK.

Give the DNS records some time to propagate and try turning the slider to Enable.

Once it is enabled and can see the new CNAMES it will stay on Enabled.

    Select close.

If this issue is missing/invalid DNS records for your domain name, the answer is never. Microsoft most likely can't edit your DNS records because they don't have permission to edit it. You do.

As this is a known issue I would recommend that Microsoft have the DKIM and DMARC records as required in the Microsoft Exchange section of the DNS Records tab in Setting -> Domains and have the ability to check their status there.
