I am trying the New Outlook. I used to be able to sort my inbox by column (FROM) and then type in a letter and quickly get to all emails from people starting with that letter. For me that was a quick way to navigate my emails. It does not seem to work like that now. Is there a setting that I am missing or did Microsoft take that out in the new version? I understand that the search bar can be used and filters can be used, but I want the one letter search functionality that I have been using.

I miss this feature too.
Previously I was able to sort by name and then immediately start typing to get to the person I want. Now I'm forced to use the search box on the top ribbon or drag the slider down the alphabetical list.
I'm surprised that this feature has been missed off given that predictive text is built into email writing.
So the ones developing the software are clearly not using Outlook themselves. This is the most basic function myself and so many of my colleagues use daily.
Is anyone actually listening at Microsoft?
I simply want to click the 'From' column to sort my emails by sender, like everything else (such as folders).
It's just exhausting having to work with this software. I have no choice.
The only reason I switched to the new Outlook was that the old one is broken on my computer. The new one is utterly frustrating to use. Decades of old tools and abilities can't be used. Garbage, with no fixes on the horizon?
This is a critical misstep. I have always had and used this functionality. Please move this to the top of the critical list on features to be resolved.
