This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school

I'm not able to add my work 365 basic account in this new Outlook anymore. I get this error: "This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web."

This is ridiculous that I'm able to add my personal Gmail, my personal Outlook email, but can't add my work account which my company pays money for. Now you want to charge us more by upgrading from basic to standard to able to use your new Outlook I see. I also noticed ads right in my Inbox in this new Outlook. Seriously? Ads too now? Well, it seems like you're very desperate lately dear Microsoft and using such enforcing brute tactics on us - users won't do good for you. It will have opposite effect in fact: Now I will tell my IT boss to switch to Google instead. And guess what? I won't be the only one doing this. You know what's your problem, Microsoft? You never listen and you never care about us. You just do what you want to do and it's all about squizzing money out of us while giving us worst products compared to other companies.

P.S. By the way, your new Outlook sucks and everything you give us lately sucks too.

Great tip! Thanks! I had a computer with New Outlook and I moved to a new one. By copying that dir not only got access to all email accounts before this ban from MS, but also I recovered all New Outlook settings in the new computer!

    Last update from Microsoft Support:

    "…

I'd like to provide you with an update on the situation. After checking with my team as well as my advisor, the New Outlook is a recently introduced feature, and the Microsoft team is actively engaged in refining and enhancing its functionality. As you may have observed from the link you shared, it appears that several users are experiencing similar issues.

Please be assured that we are fully aware of these challenges and are dedicated to addressing them. In the interim, we recommend utilizing the normal Outlook, which remains a reliable alternative. We understand the value of the advanced benefits that the New Outlook brings, and we share your enthusiasm for its potential.

Regrettably, at this time, the development of the New Outlook is not progressing as swiftly as we had anticipated. We acknowledge the limitations it may currently pose, and we ask for your understanding as we invest the necessary time to improve and refine the experience.

Rest assured that our team is diligently working to enhance the New Outlook, and we are committed to keeping you informed about its progress. Once we have completed the development and improvements, we will promptly announce its availability for users.

    …"

Summing up, it's recommended to utilize "normal Outlook" at the moment and wait for their solution. New Outlook is not something we pay for and have a right to demand an immediate solution. It's more like a beta version so it might be reasonable to stay with old mail client for now or utilize the workaround for 15 USD (or 14 EUR) I suggested above.
