I'm not able to add my work 365 basic account in this new Outlook anymore. I get this error: "This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web."

This is ridiculous that I'm able to add my personal Gmail, my personal Outlook email, but can't add my work account which my company pays money for. Now you want to charge us more by upgrading from basic to standard to able to use your new Outlook I see. I also noticed ads right in my Inbox in this new Outlook. Seriously? Ads too now? Well, it seems like you're very desperate lately dear Microsoft and using such enforcing brute tactics on us - users won't do good for you. It will have opposite effect in fact: Now I will tell my IT boss to switch to Google instead. And guess what? I won't be the only one doing this. You know what's your problem, Microsoft? You never listen and you never care about us. You just do what you want to do and it's all about squizzing money out of us while giving us worst products compared to other companies.

P.S. By the way, your new Outlook sucks and everything you give us lately sucks too.

    Just echoing everyone else. This breaks years of processes and workflow if it isn't fixed. Everything from my work to accounting and C-Suite access.

    How do I tell the CXO that they aren't allowed to check their extra emails in the same app any more and have to go back and forth between the web and the app? Especially where most of them live on their phone! Ugh...a foolish attempt to squeeze more money out of licensing.

    I mean, we've all done the 'scream test' but this is really foolish...

    echoing everyone else, Paid for outlook 365 corperate + domain, so my email has it's own domain.. was using the new outlook for months fine, and then reinstalled windows and the new outlook is telling me my email isnt supported..

    this is very embarrassing and ultimately regret switching from googles systems. Everything im finding, in the office/microsoft offering is backwards and a giant mess compared to gsuite and gmail

    Having used the "New" Outlook for Windows for months, I suddenly find myself locked out of 7 out of 11 of my email accounts because they have Business E1 licences. I am beyond furious. To see that there is no response or fix from @Microsoft only makes it all too clear this is a mercenrary money-grabbing exercise to have us upgrade our licences - when our licences are PAID accounts in the first place.

    If at any time they extend this to the Outlook 365 desktop app or replace that app permanently with this "New" Outlook for Windows, I am sure consumer law professors, advocates, and regulators will have something to say about it.

    FWIW, I just got confirmation from Microsoft Support that they are not permitting cheaper paid email accounts on new Outlook. No reason was given. My colleagues and I have put in a feedback request here: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/2f7925cb-3a80-ee11-a81c-000d3ae46fcb  - anyone encountering this problem should consider upvoting that item.

    Now we get ads in Outlook too. So lovely :) I think it's really time to switch to Google folks. Microsoft is at their lowest part in their history.
