I'm not able to add my work 365 basic account in this new Outlook anymore. I get this error: "This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web."
This is ridiculous that I'm able to add my personal Gmail, my personal Outlook email, but can't add my work account which my company pays money for. Now you want to charge us more by upgrading from basic to standard to able to use your new Outlook I see. I also noticed ads right in my Inbox in this new Outlook. Seriously? Ads too now? Well, it seems like you're very desperate lately dear Microsoft and using such enforcing brute tactics on us - users won't do good for you. It will have opposite effect in fact: Now I will tell my IT boss to switch to Google instead. And guess what? I won't be the only one doing this. You know what's your problem, Microsoft? You never listen and you never care about us. You just do what you want to do and it's all about squizzing money out of us while giving us worst products compared to other companies.
P.S. By the way, your new Outlook sucks and everything you give us lately sucks too.

Sounds like it is better to replace paid for "MSFT Business Basic accounts" with free gmail accounts if I want to use the new outlook for multiple email accounts? or am I missing something here?
Agreed, this is still happening with my Microsoft 365 E1 inboxes.
This WAS working in Outlook 2016, Thunderbird, Windows Mail and other apps.
What is going on?
Guys, I'm marking this thread as "unsolved" again, because seems like Microsoft again did something and removed ability to add our 365 office emails. I wanted to add email for the coworker and got the same error. To test if it got broken again, I logged out from my Outlook app and when tried to login got that horrible error too. So yeah, I confirm it's broken again!
SERIOUSLY, MICROSOFT?! FIRST YOU BREAK IT, THEN FIX IT QUIETLY AND THEN BREAK IT AGAIN?! **** YOU'RE DOING?!!!!
On the top of that, now I also see ads in Outlook. Wow, just wow. I can clearly see on what path Microsoft is going now with this Satya Nadela... It's all about money, asking for more money while delivering worse quality products and services than before.
Same issue. I have about 15 different mail accounts. New Outlook exported them from the old version. Cannot sign in with 2 of the Microsoft accounts that worked well; it won't allow sign in in New Outlook (2 leading universities). One IMAP account absolutely refuses to allow "continue" whatever parameters I choose.
