New Outlook vs. Outlook in Microsoft 365

Friends.

Can anyone tell me when to use the Outlook in Microsoft 365 and when to use the new Outlook desktop app.

I have both installed on my computers - which I suppose is unnecessary. But I don't understand the difference?

Appreciate if someone can explain this!

    That what I should do cancel my suscripción too. There is no way or good answer . That’s where my money goes for nothing ..

    Log into your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services and cancel the sub or set it to not auto renew. If you subscribed to a 1 year plan within the last 30 days, you might be able to get a refund, otherwise it will cancel when the subscription ends.

    I'm an end user with no admin rights on my work pc. But I do have a personal pc and I concur with the above assessment of Geek Squad. Waste of your time and waste of your money on many issues.

    Why is Microsoft cramming it down everyone's throats if it's not meant to replace the desktop version? We pay for Business Premium and people keep switching without realizing it's actually a downgrade to a product we pay for. It's very annoying and makes no sense to be asking people to switch in business versions of Outlook.

    Thank you for clearly stating that "It is not (currently) a replacement for the Outlook desktop program (part of Office)". And so showing us, that Microsoft only confuses us with their switch button inviting as to go from office Outlook (proprer full-fat Outlook) to this light weight "new Outlook".

    Also, you supplied the link for feature list. It is for advanced users, which the requestor probably is not. And the others asking further questions just do not see your answer, because they want to see the comparison of uncomparable. No, the two applications are hardly comparable.

    No one said the apps are comparable - and they definitely are not. New Outlook is built on Outlook on the web, in an app framework and is a work in progress, with features added frequently. Eventually, maybe in 4 or 5 years, they might be closer - but even then, there are features in classic Outlook that cannot be ported to scripts in new outlook or if added to new outlook, won't be quite the same or as robust.
