New Outlook vs. Outlook in Microsoft 365

Hi sorry I didn’t tap back sooner my test machine got doomed. Microsoft, and I’m a veteran has the largest crash test base on the globe, great if you own stock but hard on us consumer's since we want it to work and free would be nice. I flipped the switch quite a while back on the test box and the “new” blew the conversion from pop to imap spectacularly. This is a significant problem: I have been using New Outlook for months with 2 google email accounts and 1 comcast account. I suddenly stopped getting comcast emails so I removed it with the intention of adding it back as we sometimes have to do. This time, it would not go through. It kept saying that I needed an app password; Google has a way to get an app password, unfortunately no one at Comcast knows what the hell an app password is. They say that by checking a "allow third party connection" box is the solution. Alas, no. That is not enough as mine was already checked. I spent a total of 5 hours between Comcast and Microsoft support only to end up loading all my email accounts back on to Classic Outlook which I hate. None of my email addresses transferred back (ie when you start to type the address it auto fills for you) and now I'm just generally pissed and confused. The Microsoft support guy said the New Outlook should not have been released with all the bugs it has and that it's not trustworthy. I predict my future in which we have no choice but to switch over to New Outlook and I will find that it still requires an app password to add comcast and comcast will still not have a clue what an app password is.

If i reset outlook(new) app - it says it will delete all emails which im fine with. My worry is will it delete the emails in "outlook desktop" too?

Outlook (new) and desktop outlook - both carry different email id's.

I want to be 100% sure of it, before i reset Outlook(new) app - as i dont want it to affect my outlook desktop at any cost.

But NO.... MS has to throw multiple e-mail programs at us! I recall for years they would "UPDATE" the version, not create another different version!!! OMG SMH

And only today, my 'paid' Outlook opened up to the Web outlook, which always involves jettisoning the intruder and re-opening my Sub'd version.

I cannot understand why it is beyond MS's ability to apply Code that recognises when a Subscriber is 'active' and blocks bouncing them into the Web version.
