New Outlook vs. Outlook in Microsoft 365

Hi Karl. Thank you for the excellent differences between Outlook mail clients. I have the same frustration as others regarding which Outlook desktop app vs. online offer the best user-friendly experience for mail apps, etc. Last year I had been using Windows Mail and loved it. Then forced to move to the "New Outlook" on the web late in the year. And so far, I do not care for it at all. It really has some shortfalls over Microsoft Outlook and Windows Mail.

An issue I have with the New Outlook is that I have been unable to find a solution online (and from Microsoft Support) on how to turn off the mail autosave feature. Frequently, during creating a new email, portions of the draft email is saved to my Draft folder, and not knowing if the finished email actually got sent or not. Also, I have a draft/partial email that keeps popping up in the Delete folder even after I empty the Trash. Been happening past two months and I cannot successfully delete the draft.

Microsoft Support told me both issues are issues with the new Outlook and that I should "TOGGLE" back to the old classic version of Outlook to bypass the autosave and delete issues.

Third issue is with finding out how to set incoming new emails in my inbox to turn as READ emails (unbolded) when clicked on to read them. Most times I click on them to read and they will turn back to being unread (bolded). I have tried all three options in Settings for mail and have not worked. Help?

I have successful access to my yahoo email with "new Outlook." I have worked many days and cannot get my yahoo email to work within Outlook Microsoft 365. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to add my Yahoo email to Microsoft 365 as well. It finally worked when I added it as a POP3 account.

In order to do this, you need to log into your Yahoo! account management settings, and create a special password for Outlook.

Super helpful! Has a date or timeframe been said when we will no longer have access to the "old" Outlook? I currently toggle back and forth to slowly get used to the look and changes, but when there is a solid date, I'll plan to force myself into the new so I can get a firm grasp on it.
