Outlook crashes when I attempt to attach an email (.msg) to an outgoing email

I updated my computer this morning and now anytime I try and attach an email to an outgoing email, my entire Outlook crashes (before the email attaches and I get a chance to try and send the outgoing email). I've tried restarting Outlook and my computer. I have no problem attaching and sending other types of files. The issue is not limited to one particular email message I'm trying to attach or send -- I've tested the issue, and it has happened with all my tests or various email (.msg) attachments and outgoing emails.

I routinely attach emails from within my Outlook to my outgoing emails in Outlook, by dragging and dropping the email I want to attach to my outgoing email. This is the first time I'm having this issue. I imagine it may have something to do with the update I was forced to run this morning.

Any troubleshooting advice would be much appreciated. Thank you, all!

I can confirm this happens to several of our users starting this week as well

I also can confirm it only affects MSG file extensions. Not DOC RTF TXT XLS etc.

Wasnt even on the latest version. I attempted to update to the latest version but it still did not fix the error. So this has been happening on at least 2 versions.....

Furthermore, here is what is logged in event viewer at the time of crash.

Online suggestions were to try outlook /cleanviews as there is an issue with this mso20win32client.dll

    That did not help

It seems they may have pushed an update in the last 30 minutes of me looking into this issue as we've had several users report this issue.

Version 2402 build number 17328.20108 was the confirmed build that this was still an issue, but I ran an update and am currently on build 17328.20142 and this is no longer an issue.

Have your clients that are experiencing this run an update and make sure they're on 20142, should be fixed.

Unfortunately to make matters worse for me, none of the IT computers seem to have this issue or duplicate. Only everybody else, so finding a user I can bother will take some time. Not sure what could be different (we are not local admins either)
