Outlook crashes when I attempt to attach an email (.msg) to an outgoing email

I updated my computer this morning and now anytime I try and attach an email to an outgoing email, my entire Outlook crashes (before the email attaches and I get a chance to try and send the outgoing email). I've tried restarting Outlook and my computer. I have no problem attaching and sending other types of files. The issue is not limited to one particular email message I'm trying to attach or send -- I've tested the issue, and it has happened with all my tests or various email (.msg) attachments and outgoing emails.

I routinely attach emails from within my Outlook to my outgoing emails in Outlook, by dragging and dropping the email I want to attach to my outgoing email. This is the first time I'm having this issue. I imagine it may have something to do with the update I was forced to run this morning.

Any troubleshooting advice would be much appreciated. Thank you, all!

    It seems when I use the "new" Outlook, that I can still attach emails to my emails. I just have not liked that Outlook and have not been using it.

To clarify this case, please kindly provide us with your Outlook version with product details by going to New Outlook>Settings>General>About Outlook or Classic Outlook>File>Office Account and sharing that entire page screenshot with hidden personal information. What version of Outlook do I have?

    To further analysis, I did further from my side no matter using New Outlook(1.2024.207.500 (Production)) & (Client Version is 20240209002.12) and Classic Outlook(2401(Build 17231.20236 Click-to-Run)), it seems that everything is working fine to send email with attached (.msg) email file normally. For my suggestion, you may check your Outlook version if upgraded and see this article for more version information Update history for Microsoft 365 Apps (listed by date) - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn.

    We have a number of people with the same issue suddenly today. So far it seems all have the 2402 update but that's not 100% confirmed yet.
