How do I enable copy and paste in the new outlook? I am not able to directly copy any documents from Explorer and then go to the email that I am working on to paste onto the emial.

How do I enable copy and paste in the new outlook?

I am not able to directly copy any documents from Explorer and then go to the email that I am working on to paste onto the emial. Before with the Old Outlook I was able to to do this easily but the New Outlook requires me to go to the "paper clip" Icon above then search thru the Explorer to find the file then the specific documents(which couple be hundred documents); this process takes sometime 5 miniuets to find the exact document to copy and paste. I need to do it the Old Outlook ways or "Classic" format so that I can do just the cut and paste as mentioned earlier of this email. Pleas advise ASAP thanks.

    I can not open a saved "New Outlook" email to read without being connected to the Internet. Not Good.

    The concern of having to be connected to the internet in order to read saved emails is not solely focused on a "Big Brother Monitoring" issue, it deals with being able to access those emails where WIFI-Internet is not available, not secure, or down.

    Again I go back to "New Outlook" should have been an improvement over "Outlook". Its as if you were told that your room was being upgraded to provide an updated jacuzzi to find that the couch and bed were removed to accommodate that upgrade and now you must sleep on a folding cot.

    It appears you are not using cached exchange mode. Turn on Cached Exchange Mode - Microsoft Support

    Can you verify your settings?

    If the Cached Exchange Mode option is missing, one or more of the following might apply:

    • An Exchange account doesn't exist in your Microsoft Outlook profile    This feature requires your Outlook profile contain an Exchange account. POP3 and IMAP accounts can’t use this feature.
    • Your Exchange server administrator has disabled this functionality    Exchange administrators can disable this feature in Outlook. For more information, contact your Exchange administrator.
    • Microsoft Terminal Services is installed    Cached Exchange Mode is not available on computers that run Windows Server when Microsoft Terminal Services is installed.

    Chuck,

    If you are trying to open emails saved from Classic Outlook do the steps you did before for .eml files for .msg files. Outlook Desktop saves emails as .msg as the default.

    1. Right click the Windows Start button and click Settings
    2. In Settings search for Default Apps
    3. At the top in the box for "Set a default for a file type" enter .msg
    4. Click that arrow to the far right to select another Default app and switch it to New Outlook
    5. Click Set Default

    Microsoft wants to sell subscriptions to 365, so they are making it inconvenient with this "new" handicapped email client.

    I loaded canary and can now use email as it was intended. Yes they have a subscription but encryption is superior and not perfect but better than the crippled new outlook.
