How do I enable copy and paste in the new outlook? I am not able to directly copy any documents from Explorer and then go to the email that I am working on to paste onto the emial.

I'm STUNNED. Why would MS do that? This makes no sense.

I'm constantly training people as well as giving people data - my PRIMARY way of communicating is via email. I take a screen shot using TechSmith's SnagIt, annotate for the moment's need, copy and paste into Outlook, and include extra steps in my email. This is an HOURLY occurance.

I've confirmed the image is in my paste board (WindowsKey + V), and I can paste it into ANY OTHER software... but not Outlook?!? But, if I use a "surrogate" application (like MS Word, PowerPoint, or even Photoshop) I can paste it into an email just fine?? Are you tracking the application it came from? Are you requiring specific meta-data?

I consider this a bug... not a feature of the new Outlook. And, quite frankly, it's a cop-out to suggest we need to use a different product or roll-back to an older version just for that feature. Sorry.

Please put in a bug ticket for this.

What idiot made this change? Is it the same fool that added the "Type / to insert files and more" that people have been complaining about for months? This person now wants us all to add four new steps to copy and paste additional information that MAY OR MAY NOT BE INCLUDED in emails we send? I used to be able to copy/paste certain comments to certain email recipients with a quick c/p and I was done.

Leave the program alone or offer an "opt out" for those of us that don't have 3 extra hours per day to fiddle with your "UPGRADES" to Outlook.

Thank you. Yes, using the email's clipboard icon works, as you stated. What also works is what someone else reported, using Control C to copy the Word text you want to put in the New Outlook email, and then using Control V to paste it into the New Outlook email.

When I reported to their computer-generated question asking why I wanted to switch back to the "old" Outlook, and I stated in the choices they gave me that it was a "functionality" problem, and then I stated that I wanted to know how to cut and paste from Word into an email in New Outlook, the computer-generated answer they gave me was totally unhelpful and wasted more of my time. Even googling to find the answer, sent me down ridiculous rabbit holes, wasting more of my time. I am very thankful I found this microsoft-answers site.

I figured out a way to do the copy and paste from a word document. Basically, copy it from word and then go to your e-mail and click on the circled copy icon (See Below) and it will paste it in.

Thank you for telling us that we can still use Control C to copy and Control V to paste from a Word document into an email in the New (Horrible New) Outlook. I spent hours today googling how to do a simple copy and paste from Word into a New Outlook email and never found the solution you said we could still do. Never found any solution that worked or made sense, until your response. It is mind boggling and infuriating that one can't still do what I was trying to do and have done for decades, highlighting what I wanted to copy and then doing a right-click to paste into the email. What sadistic SOB decided to not let us do that anymore!
