How do I enable copy and paste in the new outlook? I am not able to directly copy any documents from Explorer and then go to the email that I am working on to paste onto the emial.

How do I enable copy and paste in the new outlook?

I am not able to directly copy any documents from Explorer and then go to the email that I am working on to paste onto the emial. Before with the Old Outlook I was able to to do this easily but the New Outlook requires me to go to the "paper clip" Icon above then search thru the Explorer to find the file then the specific documents(which couple be hundred documents); this process takes sometime 5 miniuets to find the exact document to copy and paste. I need to do it the Old Outlook ways or "Classic" format so that I can do just the cut and paste as mentioned earlier of this email. Pleas advise ASAP thanks.

    Oh dear. I saw that method here and tried it just now and it worked. Do you mean that it might work for a while and then not????!!!

    I think you're quite clever to figure that out. Those of us who have only basic computer skills certainly won't try it, of course. No Microsoft person or FAQ has been able to explain why on earth the change was made (to disallow copy and paste).

    Hi, I just tried it and I could do it using only one arm--that is, if you are copying from Word. I clicked Copy in Word. Then I went to my Outlook message. I held down the Ctrl with my little finger and the V with my index finger, and the paste worked.

    OMG, this actually worked!!! THANK YOU! I was so frustrated. I often type up my message in Word and then paste it into my email. I couldn't do it recently and emailed the group that I would write to them from my Yahoo account instead. But I tried your method just now and it worked.

    solesaux sent me a reply that works but I can't find it on this thread.

    It said "I found a solution in the NEW Outlook. I was also annoyed that it was not as simple to copy paste a file as before. You will see a series of buttons above the text of the e-mail you're writing. One is called "Has attachments" with a paper clip on the side. Click on it an you will be presented with two fields: one to upload a file and another to upload/share from the cloud.

    It is as easy to copy paste as it used to!
