New Outlook Layout - How do I add more columns (Size of Mail) to the inbox?

I am now using Outlook for Mac, version 16.79.3 (23120117) and am extremely surprised by the new layout, which is missing various information / settings.

For example, how do I add additional columns (such as Size of Mail) to the Inbox?

I also wanted to switch back to the old version. -> Legacy Outlook. But after the switch I have to enter all email accounts again. However, when entering the account under IMAP, the "Next" button is highlighted in light grey and cannot be pressed. Email accounts can therefore not be entered.

    Hi

    I am on Windows 11 on a PC. I didn’t have to re enter the accounts when I switched back to classic but that was back when I first wrote the question. My parents use the new version which is still beyond basic and until Microsoft fix it I will not be upgrading Outlook. I don’t think their “web version” is any better either. I have an added column for notes so I can write what I am

    waiting info I am waiting for etc beside each email. Loosing that option is just not an option. Microsoft stuffed up with this upgrade.

    I'm also shocked. New Outlook has been around for YEARS now. Not clear what the true advantages are; many features are still missing. No updates recently. So WHY does it even exist?

    Absolutely appalling, you are correct. I am not on a Mac, and I also did not uninstall/ install - just used the "Try the New Outlook" button. No issues switching back, however, they are ending OL 2016 support on 10/14/25.
