Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
Looks like that is not a thing and is being "considered" for a future release. Thankfully I can still use the old outlook!!

I am now using Outlook for Mac, version 16.79.3 (23120117) and am extremely surprised by the new layout, which is missing various information / settings.
For example, how do I add additional columns (such as Size of Mail) to the Inbox?
I also wanted to switch back to the old version. -> Legacy Outlook. But after the switch I have to enter all email accounts again. However, when entering the account under IMAP, the "Next" button is highlighted in light grey and cannot be pressed. Email accounts can therefore not be entered.

Agreed. New Outlook is horrible.
Same issue and desire
****Update a month later from original post.... I have switched back to Outlook 2016. The new version was making me spend more time doing the same tasks I used to when managing and responding to email. Huge blunder removing the ability to customize columns.****
Same issues... I use the category column to quickly assign or change categories of action items....and especially like being able to one-click the category to assign the default category...
I also rely on the TO column to be able to quickly ascertain if an email is sent just to me or if it's been sent to multiple people.
I'm trying not to just switch back to my old Outlook, but am afraid I may need to. This new version seems to me to be dumbed down when it should be getting smarter....and "smarter" doesn't mean (in typical Microsoft fashion) that it takes your choices away and does things for you instead because it "knows best" ....
Hi ,
I have the same problem , has there been any update to this from Microsoft ? Seems a pain to sort things or customize inbox view.
