Email reminder and follow up in New Outlook missing

Hi.

I am currently using 'New Outlook'. Previously I was able to set a reminder/follow up on the email either before or after sending as a reminder to do so.

Sadly I cannot find it. Has it been omitted?

This was a very important tool, please reinstate this incredibly useful and productive feature.

I take a little different approach. Once you've sent the email, you can go find it in your Sent Items folder then you'll see the email has the flag icon. Right click on the flag icon and you'll get your choices to create a To Do task.

A few more steps but if you use that feature a lot (which I do), it is an ok approach.

    Dear all

I have discovered a way of overcoming this issue.

Once you've sent the email, right click the email within your inbox and scroll to the bottom to 'advanced actions'. There you can 'create task'. This sets a basic task without any reminders etc.

Once done, the task is shown in the 'To Do' column on the right. There you can right click and set custom reminders etc for any given task.

    Hope this helps.

So a useful function that had been working for years has been removed??? Why???

No, it hasn't been removed, it hasn't been implemented yet.

The New Outlook isn't based on the original code of Classic Outlook, it is a complete remake from the ground up. It's going to take quite a bit of time to get all the useful functions back in there but then with a modern code base.

If you rely on this feature, you can either use the workaround which I suggested or revert back to Classic Outlook; It will be supported for years to come.

That's great Roady, sincerely appreciate the effort in responding.

I'll take that suggestion, good temporary solution.

If you can (in your busy schedule!), pop me a reply when you're aware an update has been made to let me know.

Thanks again and have a great day.
